Irvington Development Organization (IDO) is pleased to announce the Grand Opening of the Irvington Lofts, 5855 East Washington Street, Indianapolis. IDO partnered with a private developer, Irvington Partners, LLC, to acquire the former Indy East Motel site and create contemporary, quality, affordable rental housing in the heart of historic Irvington.

Irvington Development Organization (IDO) is pleased to announce the Grand Opening of the Irvington Lofts, 5855 East Washington Street, Indianapolis.

IDO redeveloped the site of the former Indy East Motel, which had been vacant since 2009, through the construction of a 50-unit apartment building designed for moderate-income residents.  The units have a loft feel with a contemporary design that complements the surrounding historic architecture.  The units will have several features that make the structure extremely energy efficient and sustainable including a garden to be shared by the residents, a green roof, a cistern to collect rain water, and planned solar panels on the roof.

The Grand Opening Ceremony will celebrate the long anticipated completion of the Irvington Lofts.  The ceremony will include a brief presentation, apartment tours, entertainment by students from the Irvington Preparatory Academy, and refreshments.  Neighbors and members of the public are welcome to attend to celebrate this positive development in the community.
