Even though spring and summer seem far away, it won’t be long before gardeners get ready to start seeds indoors. For nature lovers, indoor seed starting is a great way to enjoy nature without having to bundle up against winter winds. For frugal vegetable gardeners, it’s essential for getting a head start on a growing season that is too short for some heat-loving veggies.

Regardless of whether you’re a beginner seed starter, expert, or somewhere in between, you’re invited to the 2018 Great Indy Seed Swap on Saturday, February 10, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Bona Thompson Memorial Center (5350 East University Avenue). You can bring seeds to swap, join a class that introduces you to new forms of veggie and fruit gardening, chat with other gardeners, and warm up with a bowl of chili.

If you’ve attended this event before – 75 growers showed up last year – note the location change to the Bona Thompson.

This event will take place regardless of the weather. For more information, contact event organizer Pete Kuhns, pkuhns@gmail.com or text 317-332-6668.
